This beautiful decoratively mounted Classical style amphora from the Biedermeier period, fully painted with floral themes, is one of just a small number of works bearing the mark of painter K. F. Quast. His sensitive, naturalistic floral painting is evidently influenced by the production of Viennese porcelain makers. (lmp)
